TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR ONLINE DATING PROFILE
Here are a few tips to make sure you are getting the most out of your online dating profile with places such as Match.com.
OMG, don’t do it! Don’t use that picture from high school you have on Facebook lag!!!.
This is probably the most important part of your profile. It’s not Facebook; you can’t have a photo of you from high school. Keep it recent, nice, not too flashy. Your photo should represent who you are and what you are looking for so keep the sexy stuff out unless you’re just looking for a hookup and, in that case, you might be better off going to the bar with a few girlfriends.
Upload more than one RECENT picture
Always share more than one picture. This will give any potential dates a good idea of what you look like so there are no surprises when you meet up for dinner. Remember photos should be recent, leave the high school pictures on Facebook.
Complete your profile
I know, I don’t always think all the information matters, but it does in most cases and your online dating profile. It’s time-consuming, but you’ll likely find a better match with complete up to date information.
Don’t fib, not even a little bit
I think this comes down to being honest with yourself, the things you like, who you are, and what you are looking for in someone. It’s easy to wish we liked to run on the beach but do you love jogging on the beach or just wish you lived closer to a beach? Be completely honest on your profile, even with the little things. Remember these questions are also going to help determine many of your matches and will help you weed out those who do not share values are principles that are important to you.
Don’t be shy
Okay, with the age of online dating comes the time when it’s totally okay for a lady to make the first move. Don’t sit around hoping that super cute dude will message ya. MESSAGE HIM FIRST! You don’t have to ask him to marry you, just say hi and test the waters. Besides men like to know you find them attractive enough to approach them too! My sister has been using Match.com recently, and she has put herself out there, and she has never received a negative response. Typically she’ll chat and sometimes even get a date.
DID YOU KNOW THAT SUNDAY, JANUARY 3RD IS DATINGSUNDAY?
It sure is, so if finding love is on your New Year’s resolution list the best day is right around the corner!
According to Match, singles looking to find their mate in the new year should scout out dating profiles on National Online Dating Day, the proven busiest moment for online dating. Happening every year on the first Sunday in January, the exact time down to the minute this year is 8:52pm ET on Sunday, January 3th. This heavy influx of traffic falls within Match’s “Peak Season,” which spans from December 25th to February 14th annually, when the world’s largest dating site sees a 60% spike in new members.
